FAQ : EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW AROUNT THE USE & EFFETS OF POPPERS

Toutes les questions que vous vous posez peut être sur le poppers

Poppers, the name we give them because of the "pop" sound when you open the bottle, are a family of liquids called alkyl nitrites. Their vapors can be inhaled and cause euphoric and aphrodisiac effects.

The first, amyl nitrite, was made in 1844 and was used to relieve angina pectoris (chest pain). The explosion of its recreational use is believed to have begun in the 1960s. After consequential restrictions on its production and use, various other related alkyl nitrites appeared. These new formulas are: isopropyl nitrite, isobutyl nitrite and butyl nitrite.

Poppers are sold in liquid form in small bottles, often with colorful packaging. The contents evaporate at room temperature in the form of an invisible vapor.

The vapor can be inhaled through the nose from the bottle, but there are some risks involved. If the liquid on the rim of the bottle touches the skin or is spilled on the skin, the liquid may cause irritation or burns.

Safe to use is to leave the bottle open to allow vapors to diffuse into the room. The effects may be slower but are almost identical.

Warning: If you ever swallow liquid poppers, you should consult your doctor.

When the vapor from poppers is inhaled, it enters the bloodstream very quickly through the throat and lungs, causing powerful but short-lived effects (usually 2-5 minutes).

It all starts with a feeling of pleasant warmth which is accompanied by a feeling of well-being (relaxation, slight euphoria) and an increase in libido.

Poppers enhance sexual experiences (increasing intensity and prolonging the duration of orgasm) and are also used to facilitate anal intercourse as they relax the muscles of the anus.

However, for some people, if the aroma is too strong and they are not used to it, they may experience problems getting or maintaining an erection while using it.

The most common side effects with prolonged use are headaches.

The health risks of using poppers for healthy people are considered relatively low. They are much weaker than other inhaled volatile liquids, often called "solvents". However, they are not always harmless.

Poppers can cause poisoning by accidental ingestion, but inhaling poppers in very large quantities can also cause an overdose: nausea, vomiting, ... However, overdoses of alkyl nitrite (poppers) are rare, this which suggests that ordinary use shouldn't put anyone in the danger zone.

If someone swallows poppers, they should get to the hospital as soon as possible. In addition to the risk of poisoning, ingesting poppers can lead to throat irritation, nausea and vomiting.

People who use a lot of poppers may develop skin irritation around the nose.

Poppers can cause chemical burns if they come into contact with the skin, the skin should be rinsed off as soon as possible.
When the user gets liquid in the eyes, it is very painful. This requires rinsing with plenty of water. If the discomfort persists, consult a doctor.

Poppers are also highly flammable. You should never attempt to heat a bottle of alkyl nitrite or have an open bottle near a flame or a lit cigarette.

Poppers are not meant to be physically addictive in any way.

After regularly using poppers to improve their sex, some people have reported feeling the need to use them in order to perform better. If this happens, avoid poppers for a while and return to a normal sex life.
