Le tunnel anal est facile à insérer et ne sent pas. Les propriétés de glissement sont excellentes et il est également stable quand il est à l'intérieur. Malheureusement, le diamètre intérieur n'est pas trop grand, c'est pourquoi il est possible de jouer avec une poire à lavement ou un seul doigt au maximum.

Sa taille permet une insertion relativement facile mais ne permet pas un maintien en place seul (resserrement de la base trop large : 3 cm - expulsion possible et attention : insertion complète possible aussi !).
Le tunnel interne est trop étroit pour y passer un embout de douche, par exemple. Il peut néanmoins faciliter les lavements, en évitant les retenues d'eau dans le rectum.
