The anal ring is the most nerve-dense zone of the whole path. Far more than the rectal wall, which mostly registers pressure. Rotation in this spot recreates the effect of a tongue, hence the manufacturer's rimming angle.

How to use it, without messing it up

Take your time on prep. The sphincter doesn't open on command. A hot shower, a few minutes to relax, one or two lubed fingers before moving to the plug: that's what separates an enjoyable session from one you cut short.

Lube, way more than you think. The anus produces no natural lubrication. Put some on the plug and at the entrance, and don't hesitate to place some inside too — an applicator does this very well. Reapply as soon as it starts to drag.

Go slowly, and in stages. Present the tip, let the body adjust, push gently, stop the moment it resists. Getting past the widest point is the critical moment: that's when you slow down, not speed up. Once past it, the plug settles into place on its own.

Breathe. Exhale as you push, it releases the sphincter. Holding your breath does exactly the opposite.
