Most textured condoms pick a lane: either transverse ribs or raised dots. EasyGlide Ribs and Dots combines both on the same surface, which produces stimulation that's less uniform and a lot harder to ignore.

Who actually feels what

The texture mainly works for the receiving partner. Best to say it plainly so nobody's disappointed: the ribs and dots are raised on the outside of the condom. The guy wearing it barely notices; the guy being penetrated notices a lot.

In anal, it's the rectal wall that picks up the texture, especially in the first few centimetres, where sensitivity peaks. Slow movement lets the texture do its job far better than a fast pace, which smooths everything out.

The two textures don't do the same thing. The transverse ribs are felt on the way in and the way out. The dots create a more diffuse, point-by-point stimulation. Together, they avoid the monotony of a single type of texture.

The 52 mm changes the fit. Snugger, it moves around less during thrusting and transmits the texture better. That's also what makes it a poor match if you run wide — more on that below.

The size question, worth settling before you buy

52 mm is snugger than the standard. If you usually wear 54 mm and it's already a tight fit, this model isn't for you.

Too tight, it breaks. Latex stretched past its range is under constant strain, and it gives out. That's a cause of breakage at least as common as a lack of lube.

How to check: measure your girth at full erection and divide by two. Around 10 to 10.5 cm of girth, 52 mm is a good fit for you. Above 11 cm, go for 54 mm or more — the EasyGlide Original or Flavoured will do the job.

A snug condom isn't an uncomfortable condom. Chosen well, it's actually less noticeable than an oversized one slipping around with every movement.

How to use them

Check the date and open the wrapper with your fingers, never with your teeth or a nail.

Pinch the tip while you roll it down, all the way to the base.

Lube, and plenty of it. Even more so with a textured condom: the texture increases friction, which increases the need for lube. On the condom and inside, generously, and top it up as you go. It's the one real precaution with this model.

Go slow, at least at first. That's where the texture actually shows up. A fast pace erases the whole point of the product.

Check in. The texture is stimulating for some, unpleasant for others. It's worth asking about, and it takes thirty seconds to change if it's not working.

Change condoms between anal and oral, between partners, and during a long session. Withdraw holding the base while you're still hard.

One at a time. Two condoms stacked rub against each other and fail faster.

Lube: the rule you never break

Water-based: yes. The default choice.

Silicone-based: yes. Compatible with latex, longer-lasting for anal, and especially useful with a textured condom where friction runs higher. Watch out for your silicone toys, which it can damage.

Oil-based: never. Massage oil, petroleum jelly, coconut oil, body lotion, Brazilian balls — anything oily destroys latex in seconds, without it showing.

The CE mark. Condoms sold in the European Union are medical devices: they carry the CE mark and meet the EN ISO 4074 standard.

The expiry date, on the box and on each individual wrapper.

Storage: room temperature, away from sunlight, heat, and humidity. Not in a wallet, not in a glove compartment.

The wrapper's condition: punctured, crushed, or deflated, bin it without a second thought.

Latex allergy: these condoms are natural latex. If you're allergic, you need polyisoprene or polyurethane.
