Bondage Rope 10 m - 100% Black Cotton Ø 10 mm

Ten metres of pure cotton at 10 millimetres. The thick diameter, the one that...
Ten metres of soft, supple rope in 6 millimetres. Fine enough for precise knots, long enough for pretty much anything you want to try.
Keep a pair of scissors within reach, always. Here's why.
Cuffs tie two wrists together. Rope does everything else: it immobilises, it decorates, it connects, it constrains an entire position. And above all, it takes time — and that time is what makes the difference.
Tying someone up with rope takes several minutes. During those minutes, nothing else happens: the contact, the building tension, the gradual stillness. It's a form of foreplay in its own right, which a cuff's ratchet will never be.
This Secret Play rope is 10 metres long at 6 mm diameter, in cotton and polyester — the blend that gives you the softness of cotton and the strength of synthetic fibre. It's vegan and washable.
10 metres is the reference length. It's what most shibari tutorials assume, which lets you follow any guide without having to recalculate.
6 mm is the versatile diameter. Any thinner and the rope marks and cuts. Any thicker and knots become bulky and hard to tighten precisely. Six millimetres works everywhere.
Cotton is soft straight away. Jute or hemp rope needs breaking in — singeing, oiling, softening it up. This one is ready to use as it is, which matters when you're starting out.
The polyester adds strength and stops the rope fraying with use.
And it washes, which isn't true of traditional natural fibres.
A pair of round-tipped scissors, within reach. Always. That's the golden rule of rope bondage, even before you know how to tie a single knot. If something goes wrong, you cut — rope costs 14 euros, a wrist doesn't come with a price tag.
Never around the neck. No exceptions, no variations, no games. It's the one strictly forbidden zone.
Avoid the inside of the arms and thighs. Nerves run close to the surface there. Prolonged compression in these spots can leave numbness that lasts for weeks.
Two fingers under the rope. That's the tightness rule. If you can't slide two fingers under it, it's too tight.
Start with wrists and ankles. These are the safest and easiest areas. Chest harnesses and anything involving suspension need real training, not a three-minute tutorial.
Check in regularly. Colour at the extremities, temperature, sensation. Ask, and listen to the answer.
Agree on a safe word beforehand, plus a non-verbal signal if the mouth is busy or gagged.
Never leave a tied-up person alone. Never, not even for a minute.
Wrists tied in front, simply. A well-made reef knot is enough for a first time, and the effect is already there.
The decorative tie. Rope doesn't have to immobilise: a wrap around the chest or thighs that restrains nothing but shows, and that already changes everything.
Rope as a lead. Tied to the wrists, the other end in hand: you guide without immobilising.
Tying to the bed frame, once you've got the basic knots down.
Prevented undressing. Tie over the clothes, then cut them off or push them up. The restraint becomes an obstacle in itself.
Take your time. That's the real advice: the slowness of setting it up is half the pleasure.
Hand-washable, in warm water with mild soap. Dry flat, not in the tumble dryer.
Store it coiled, untied, somewhere dry. Rope stored damp goes mouldy.
Check its condition before every use: fraying, thin patches, fibres coming loose. A damaged rope gets replaced, not repaired.
The ends should stay neat. If they start to unravel, a stitch or a bit of tape sorts it out.
Personal use is best, or wash it between partners.

Q: Is 10 metres enough?
A: It's the reference length for a shibari rope. It covers wrist ties, ankle ties and the basic patterns. Experienced practitioners often use several at once.
Q: Does it mark the skin?
A: Any rope marks a little if it's tied tight. Cotton at 6 mm is among the softest, and marks fade within a few hours. If they last longer, it was too tight.
Q: I don't know how to tie any knots, is that a problem?
A: No. A reef knot at the wrists is enough to start. Just stay well away from anything involving suspension until you've learned it properly.
Q: Why the scissors?
A: Because a knot can jam under tension and become impossible to undo. Round-tipped scissors solve the problem in two seconds. It's rule number one.
