    Spiral ribs, and bipolar current

The Hector Helix stands out on two points: its spiral-ribbed shape, which you feel with every movement, and its bipolar setup — both poles sit on the plug itself, so the current stays local instead of crossing your body.

Bipolar and ribbed: two real advantages

Bipolar concentrates the current. The two electrodes sit on the plug, separated by an insulator. Current passes from one to the other through the local tissue — it stays in the area instead of needing a second contact point elsewhere on the body. It's more localized, more controllable, and it's also what makes the practice safer.

The spiral ribs are felt with movement. Unlike a smooth plug you set and forget, the textured surface produces a sensation with every rotation or stroke.

The mirror polish conducts perfectly and glides remarkably well.

275 g of aluminium on a moderate 40 mm size: the weight-to-diameter ratio gives a pronounced sense of density.

Made in Germany, with the finish quality that justifies the price.

The protocol, and the equipment you need

The control unit is sold separately. This plug is passive. You need a Mystim electro-stimulation control unit — Pure Vibes or Tension Lover — for the function to exist. Mystim items are only compatible with each other.

Water-based lubricant exclusively. Water conducts the current, silicone and oils insulate it and ruin the sensation.

Insert, get settled, then connect. Bring the intensity up from zero.

Rotate it gently once in place: that's where the spiral ribs make sense. A slow quarter-turn is enough to completely change the sensation.

Cut the power before any removal.

Temperature play works very well on this metal: warm or cold tap water, never an extreme.

How to use it, without messing it up

Take your time on prep. The sphincter doesn't open on command. A hot shower, a few minutes to relax, one or two lubed fingers before moving to the plug: that's what separates an enjoyable session from one you cut short.

Lube, way more than you think. The anus produces no natural lubrication. Put some on the plug and at the entrance, and don't hesitate to place some inside too — an applicator does this very well. Reapply as soon as it starts to drag.

Go slowly, and in stages. Present the tip, let the body adjust, push gently, stop the moment it resists. Getting past the widest point is the critical moment: that's when you slow down, not speed up. Once past it, the plug settles into place on its own.

Breathe. Exhale as you push, it releases the sphincter. Holding your breath does exactly the opposite.

If it hurts, you stop. Discomfort, a stretch, some pressure: normal. Sharp pain, burning, blood: you pull out and let it rest. Pain isn't a stage to push through.

Removal happens slowly, never in one sharp pull, pushing gently as if going to the bathroom. If it resists, add more lube and wait.

A good position always helps. Squatting, lying on your side with one knee raised, or one foot on the edge of the tub. Standing bolt upright is the worst setup.

This isn't a starter model. The diameter calls for an opening that's already been worked on. If you're new to this, use a slimmer plug for a few weeks first — the anus loosens up with regular practice, not with force.

    The rules of anal safety

The flared base isn't a design detail. It's what stops the plug from riding up inside. The rectum literally pulls inward: an object without a base wide enough to stop it ends up in the ER. Never repurpose an object that wasn't designed for anal use, and never use a plug whose base is damaged.

Don't fall asleep wearing it. Prolonged wear compresses tissue and restricts local circulation. A few hours at most, and never a full night.

Clean before and after. Every time. Gut flora has no business anywhere else, and a poorly cleaned toy is a one-way ticket to a urinary or digestive infection.

One plug per person, or a condom. If you're sharing, put a condom on it and change it between each person. It's simpler and safer than a rushed cleaning job.

Change zones, change protection. Whatever went in the anus doesn't go in the mouth or anywhere else without being washed first.

If you get bleeding, pain that lingers, or a fever after a session, see a doctor. It's almost never serious if you don't let it slide.

Electro-stimulation: the rules that aren't up for debate

Nothing above the waist. This is the absolute rule of electro-stimulation. The current must never cross the chest cavity or come near the heart. No electrode on the torso, arms, neck, or head, and never two contact points on opposite sides of the trunk. All the play happens below the belt.

Firm contraindications. Pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or any electronic implant: electro-stimulation is off the table, no exceptions. Also off-limits with heart rhythm disorders, heart disease, epilepsy, pregnancy, and in the presence of a metal implant in the area concerned. If you're unsure about your health, ask a doctor before buying.

Always connect after insertion and disconnect before removal. Never plug a cable into a powered-on control unit, and never pull out a plug while it's live.

Bring the intensity up from zero, every time. The threshold shifts from one day to the next, depending on hydration and fatigue. What felt comfortable yesterday can be too much today.

Water-based lubricant exclusively. Water conducts the current; silicone and oils insulate and create uneven contact points, which means unpleasant sensations or even localized tingling.

Never on broken skin or a damaged mucous membrane. A cut, irritation, a flare-up of hemorrhoids: wait until it's healed.

Never alone if you're new to this, and never under the influence of alcohol or anything that dulls perception. Your warning signal needs to be working.

Cut the power immediately if you feel sharp pain, burning, persistent numbness, or an abnormal tingling sensation after the session.

    Cleaning and care

Compatible with every lubricant. Water-based, silicone, hybrid: metal doesn't react with any of them.

Cleaning: warm water and soap, or toy cleaner. Metal is non-porous and cleans without any trouble. Dry it thoroughly — leftover moisture eventually marks the finish and the rhinestone.

Watch out for the rhinestone. On jeweled models, avoid soaking it for long stretches: rhinestone glue doesn't like prolonged water contact. Quick clean, immediate drying.

Metal transmits temperature. It takes on room temperature, so it's cold on first contact. Warm it in your hands or under warm water before insertion, unless that's exactly the effect you're after.

Storage: in a padded pouch, away from objects that could scratch the finish.

FAQ — Your questions, our answers

Q: What is a bipolar plug?

A: The two electrodes sit on the plug, separated by an insulator. Current flows from one to the other within the anal area, without needing a second contact point elsewhere on the body. It's more localized and simpler to set up.

Q: What's the difference from the Little John S?

A: Same 40 mm size, but the Hector Helix is spiral-ribbed and bipolar, where the Little John is smooth. The Hector responds better to movement.

Q: What lubricant should I use?

A: All of them, no restrictions — water-based, silicone, or hybrid. This material doesn't react with any of them. Use plenty, the anus doesn't lubricate itself.

Q: How long can I keep it in?

A: A few hours at most, and never while sleeping. Prolonged wear compresses tissue. Start with twenty to thirty minutes and extend it over sessions if you're comfortable.
