What is actually in the formula

This is the part most product pages leave out, and it is the thing that explains everything else. Mixgliss Max is not a simple water-based lubricant.

The base really is water, with glycerin and propylene glycol holding moisture in and providing the initial slip.

The thickness comes from the gelling agents. Hydroxyethylcellulose and carbomer are what turn a liquid into a dense gel. That texture is why the product stays in place and is not absorbed straight away.

And above all, the formula is boosted with silicones. It contains cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone — the same silicones you find in pure silicone lubricants. They are what give it that silky glide and that staying power a classic water-based lube never reaches.

So it is a hybrid, and that is its real strength: you get a good chunk of the performance of a silicone lubricant while keeping the simple rinse-with-water clean-up of a water-based one. Not many products pull off that trade-off this well.

Worth knowing as well: the formula contains a small amount of paraffinum liquidum, a mineral oil, right at the end of the ingredients list. The manufacturer stands by the condom compatibility, but if you steer clear of mineral oils on principle, better to know before you buy.

Why it works for extreme stretching

It does not dry out fast. That is criterion number one for this kind of play. A classic water-based lubricant is absorbed within minutes and turns tacky — exactly what you do not want halfway through a session that needs time.

The density protects you. A thick gel forms a layer between the lining and whatever is going in. On a gradual opening, that thickness genuinely cuts down friction, and with it the micro-tears.

It reactivates. Like every water-based lubricant, a few drops of water are enough to bring the slip back if it starts to thicken. That is an advantage pure silicones do not have.

The 150 ml size makes sense. For fisting, what you get through bears no relation to ordinary sex — a small bottle empties in a single session. 150 ml is the serious minimum.

And it is neutral. No fragrance, no flavour, no warming or tingling effect. On a lining that is being worked for a long stretch, that is exactly what you want: as few active ingredients as possible.

How to use it

Use far more than you think you need. That is the most common mistake by a mile. With anal, going easy on the lube only buys you discomfort — and with fisting, the quantity involved is genuinely surprising the first time.

Apply it outside and inside. The entrance alone is not enough: the product needs to be there across the whole area involved.

Warm it between your hands for a few seconds. A thick gel straight out of the tube is cold, and a lining clenched up by the cold is the opposite of what you are after.

Rinse off with plain water after use, on skin and on sheets alike. That is the whole point of a water base.

Silicone toys: the manufacturer states compatibility. The formula does contain silicones, though, so if you care about a silicone toy that cost you something, the cautious reflex is still to test on a small, out-of-sight patch, or to put a condom over the toy.
